Factoids

-Mad Hatter’s Disease: 19th century term for the neurological effects of mercury poisoning. The name comes from hatters who used mercury in the process of making felt hats. Although the exact physiopathology of the disease is unkown, MRI studies have shown dysregulation of parts of the brain involved with attention (the posterior cingulate cortex). Sufferers show symptoms of anxiety and irritableness, especially when confronted with pressure and stress.

-Intellectual Masturbation: The act of self-gratification, whereby one thouroughly enjoys spraying irrelevant knowledge amongst those around him/herself. They sure seem to get off on it, but nobody else does. [Do I do this? Seriously?]
